So what is CHAS? And how is this beneficial to our company?

CHAS stands for Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme and is one of the founders of third party accreditation. It is a nationally recognised accreditation created in 1997 by experienced health and safety professionals to improve health and safety standards across the UK. CHAS are also a founding member of SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) and have more than 900 public and private sector client organisations and 70,000 contractors registered on the CHAS Database.

How CHAS Supports Dinsdale Contracts Ltd as well as our suppliers and clients

In order to work with larger construction companies, local authorities, national authorities, hospitals, universities and schools we felt the need to improve our CHAS Standard accreditation by applying for CHAS Premium Plus.

This demonstrates and assures our existing and potential clients and suppliers that we meet a level of professionalism and compliance to have achieved this accreditation.

Our recent success in achieving CHAS Premium Plus Membership by CHAS’s qualified assessors means we were evaluated in all areas of health and safety, we also passed all the following sections in order to achieve Premium Plus level:

• Quality Management – again, awarded in conjuction with our ISO 9001 accreditation

• Financial and Business Standing
• Anti-Bribery & Corruption Policies
